Successfully Concluded! UE Philippines On-Site Tech Visit 2026

News2026-07-16

Over the past two weeks, United Energy's engineering team visited eight cities across the Philippines to support local customers, commission projects, and better understand the country's rapidly growing solar market.

While every project was different, most customers shared three common concerns: high electricity costs, unstable grid power, and reliable long-term after-sales support. These firsthand discussions gave our team a deeper understanding of what businesses truly value when investing in solar and battery storage solutions.

How We Support Customers On Site

Throughout the trip, our engineering team worked closely with distributors, factory owners, installers, and EPC partners across the Philippines.

Rather than offering standard product recommendations, every project started with a comprehensive on-site assessment.

  • Grid Assessment

Every project begins with a grid assessment. Our engineers verify local electrical conditions and grid configuration to ensure the selected inverter is compatible, safe, and optimized for long-term performance.

  • Rooftop & Installation Site Survey

We inspect roof structure, available installation space, and shading conditions to determine the maximum safe PV capacity and optimize system performance.

  • Energy Consumption Analysis

We analyze electricity consumption patterns, tariffs, and load profiles before recommending the optimal solution.

For facilities with high daytime consumption, grid-connected PV systems often provide the best return on investment.

For facilities with high nighttime demand, hybrid systems combined with battery storage can improve self-consumption and reduce dependence on the grid.

High Electricity Costs Are Reshaping Energy Investment Decisions

The Philippines has long faced challenges with grid reliability due to frequent typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. As a result, most commercial and industrial (C&I) facilities already rely on diesel generators to maintain operations during power outages. Backup power is no longer their biggest concern.

Today, the priority has shifted toward one question: How can businesses reduce their electricity costs?

With commercial electricity tariffs frequently exceeding US$0.20/kWh, the Philippines remains one of the most expensive electricity markets in Southeast Asia. For factories, cold storage facilities, food processing plants, and other energy-intensive businesses, electricity has become one of the largest operating expenses, making energy efficiency and long-term cost reduction increasingly important.

During our visit, we met the owner of a poultry processing plant whose production lines and cold storage facilities operate 24 hours a day. The factory consumes approximately 200,000 kWh of electricity every month, resulting in monthly electricity bills of nearly US$40,000.

This challenge is becoming increasingly common across the Philippine manufacturing sector. As a result, more C&I businesses are investing in PV + BESS to reduce electricity costs, improve energy independence, and accelerate ROI. Solar is no longer just a sustainability initiative—it has become a strategic business investment.

After-Sales Support Has Become a Key Selection Criterion

As the Philippine solar market continues to mature, businesses are no longer evaluating suppliers based solely on product quality or price. Long-term technical support has become an equally important factor, as reliable after-sales service directly affects system uptime and return on investment.

During our visit, several customers shared similar experiences. In some cases, the original EPC contractor or equipment supplier was no longer able to provide technical support after project completion due to organizational changes or staff turnover. When equipment failed, customers struggled to find qualified engineers to diagnose the issue or arrange timely repairs.

One factory owner shared the experience of a 100kW hybrid solar system where two inverters failed, severely affecting overall system performance. As a result, daily energy generation dropped from approximately 500 kWh to just 80 kWh. With the issue remaining unresolved for an extended period due to the lack of timely technical support, the factory suffered substantial losses in both electricity savings and operational efficiency.

Experiences like this are reshaping purchasing decisions across the Philippine market. Today, customers expect more than quality equipment. They want a long-term partner capable of providing remote troubleshooting, spare parts support, fast response, and ongoing engineering assistance throughout the entire lifecycle of the PV system.

More Than Products—A Long-Term Energy Partner

Throughout our visit, one message became increasingly clear.

Customers today expect more than reliable equipment—they need a long-term technical partner. United Energy combines high-quality products, experienced engineering teams, and responsive after-sales support to ensure every system continues operating efficiently throughout its lifecycle.

At United Energy, we focus on delivering exactly that.

We use high-quality components from leading manufacturers, apply strict quality control throughout production, and support every project with experienced engineering teams.

To better serve customers in the Philippines, we also provide flexible after-sales solutions, including:

Local replacement support through our Manila partner when inventory is available

Fast replacement shipments directly from China when required

Remote technical diagnosis and online engineering support

Flexible replacement, refund, or future order credit options when appropriate

Our goal is simple: reduce downtime, protect customers' investments, and ensure every system continues operating reliably for years to come.

Looking Ahead

Our visit confirmed a clear trend: Philippine businesses are increasingly investing in PV + BESS not only to improve energy resilience, but also to reduce rising electricity costs.

As demand for reliable clean energy continues to grow, United Energy remains committed to supporting customers through every stage of the project—from site survey and system design to commissioning and long-term technical support. Whether you're planning a factory, warehouse, or commercial facility, our team is ready to deliver a tailored PV + ESS solution that maximizes long-term value.
